This is the user shell, which we see as the familiar task bar, desktop, and other user interface features. This process isn't as vital to the running of Windows as you might expect, and can be stopped (and restarted) from Task Manager, usually with no negative side effects on other applications.

Flowing thees steps

1 . log on your User account

5. Press ‘New Task’ Button
Type in “explorer.exe” (without quotes) into the pop-up
Click on ‘OK’ button

Right click any folder
Click Explore

Remove Autorun Virus

The Autorun virus is a .EXE Or .CMD file that spreads itself on a computer by making a multiple copies of autorun.inf files on each drive of the computer. Each time you insert a removable media or double click your drives in Windows Explorer, the virus files start executing. The Autorun virus creates a batch file called logon.bat and modifies the system registry to ensure that each time you boot your system the virus is launched automatically.

Once your computer is infected, the virus may clandestinely connect to a malicious website and install a rootkit on your computer. The rootkit may install a keylogger to steal your personal information such as account numbers, usernames, passwords credit card information, social security, and other sensitive information. It is therefore, highly important that you remove autorun virus from your computer as soon as possible.

To remove the virus manually

Step1:
Kill the autorun process through Task Manager.
control panel ---> Administrative Tools ---> Services
Select ShellHWDetection ----> Startup type(Disable), Click Stop---> Click Ok

Step2:
Click Start, choose Run and execute regedit.
Navigate to: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
Look for a value called NoFolderOptions on the right panel
Right click on the NoFolderOptions value and choose delete
Navigate to: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
Right click on NoFolderOptions on the right pane and choose Delete
Boot the system in safe mode and open the command prompt.

Step3:
control panel ---> Folder Options ---> View
unchick Hide Proteched operating system files
chick show hidden files folders.....
Click Apply ---> Click Ok

Step4:
Search for autorun.inf file. It is a read only file so you will have to change it to normal by right clicking the file , selecting the properties and un-check the read only option
Open the file in notepad and delete everything and save the file.

Step5:
Delete ntdelect.com file on C:\.
Repeat these steps for all the drives on your computer.
Search for kavo.exe in C:\windows\system32\ and delete it.
Open registry editor and delete all the entries of kavo.exe under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE

Dont double click Flash drivers again...
Right click My computer ---> Manage ---> Disk management
Right click Flash drive ---> Explore

A string of 15 characters makes for a very strong password. However, long passwords are be difficult to remember. It must be at least 8 characters long.Try taking a line from your favorite book or movie and turning it into a password.

Then the immortal opening line "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," can be compressed into a password like this: Itwasthebestoftimes. Or try taking the name of your favorite character and compressing it like so: Sherlock Holmes.

How to Register a Domain Name

A domain name is any combination of letters and numbers followed by .com, .net, .tv, .cc, .biz or other top-level domain designations. A domain name is the kernel of the URL, or Uniform Resource Locator, which takes the form of http://www.easternsine.co.cc. Within this URL, easternsine.co.cc is the domain name.

There are two basic steps to getting your site live..........

01. registering/reserving a domain name
02. Find best web host

First, let's focus on selecting the best domain name for your site...

If you go to almost any Web hosting company - such as GoDaddy, SiteGround or Yahoo! Web Hosting - you'll notice an embedded search box somewhere on the main page that will let you see if the domain name you want is available. If it is, the hosting company can register it for you directly. The hosting company will notify you when the domain name is active, and warn you when it is time to renew.

Here are some more tips on choosing the best domain name:

01. Don't register domain names that are too long and have too many syllables if you can help it. Yes, you can register names up to 63 characters long, but that doesn't mean you have to use all 63 characters.

You want your name to be easy to remember. Not everyone will bookmark your page initially so try to think of something that can be easily remembered -- although I realize this may be tricky since a lot of names are taken these days.

02. Use hyphens if your name is more than 3 words long (unless your name includes 3 short words). A name like carbuying.com doesn't really need a hyphen because it's readable the way it is.

However a name like used-car-buying-scams.com looks better than usedcarbuyingscams.com since there are so many words in the name.

03. Protect your name by registering multiple extensions (.net, .org, etc.) This deters people from copying your name. For example, if you own garden-tips-for-us.com you can also register garden-tips-for-us.net and any other extension that's available.

You don't have to build a site on all the domains, but you can reserve the others to keep people (copycats) from registering them.

On the domain name company's main page there will be a search box. Type your first choice into the box and click on "Search". You will now receive a message telling you whether the domain name is available to register or not. Just for fun I typed in "catscatscats" from my example above and was notified that "catscatscats.org" and "catscatscats.com" are both taken but "catscatscats.net" is available.

If your first domain name choice is not available keep trying different domain names until you find one you like that is available. Now click on "Register" and fill out the form. Now you are on your way to owning your own domain name.

How to Fix Folder Options Missing in Windows Explorer

Solution 1: Edit registry

1. Go to Run, type regedit then press enter.

2. Navigate to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer].

3. At right panel, look for a value called NoFolderOptions. Right click on it then choose Delete.

4. Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer].
5. Repeat step 3 to delete NoFolderOptions entry.

Solution 2: Change setting in Group Policy

1. Go to Run, type gpedit.msc then press enter.

2. Navigate to User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components ->
Windows Explorer.

3. At the right panel, look for “Removes the Folder Options menu item from the Tools menu”, right click on it then choose Properties.

4. Change the setting from Enabled to Not Configured or Disabled.

How To use "HijackThis" Remove Spam Manualy

HijackThis is a free tool from Trend Micro. It was orgiginally developed by Merijn Bellekom, a student in The Netherlands. Spyware removal software such as Adaware or Spybot S&D do a good job of detecting and removing most spyware programs, but some spyware and browser hijackers are too insidious for even these great anti-spyware utilities.

HijackThis is written specifically to detect and remove browser hijacks, or software that takes over your web browser, alters your defaut home page and search engine and other malicious things. Unlike typical anti-spyware software, HijackThis does not use signatures or target any specific programs or URL's to detect and block. Rather, HijackThis looks for the tricks and methods used by malware to infect your system and redirect your browser.

Not everything that shows up in the HijackThis logs is bad stuff and it should not all be removed. In fact, quite the opposite. It is almost guaranteed that some of the items in your HijackThis logs will be legitimate software and removing those items may adversely impact your system or render it completely inoperable. Using HijackThis is a lot like editing the Windows Registry yourself. It is not rocket science, but you should definitely not do it without some expert guidance unless you really know what you are doing.

What to do:
If you recognize the URL at the end as your homepage or search engine, it's OK. If you don't, check it and have HijackThis fix it. For the R3 items, always fix them unless it mentions a program you recognize, like Copernic.

F0, F1, F2, F3 - Autoloading programs from INI files

What it looks like:
F0 - system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe Openme.exe
F1 - win.ini: run=hpfsched

What to do:

The F0 items are always bad, so fix them. The F1 items are usually very old programs that are safe, so you should find some more info on the filename to see if it's good or bad. Pacman's Startup List can help with identifying an item.

N1, N2, N3, N4 - Netscape/Mozilla Start & Search page

What it looks like:
N1 - Netscape 4: user_pref "browser.startup.homepage", "www.google.com"); (C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\default\prefs.js)
N2 - Netscape 6: user_pref("browser.startup.homepage", "http://www.google.com"); (C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\defaulto9t1tfl.slt\prefs.js)
N2 - Netscape 6: user_pref("browser.search.defaultengine", "engine://C%3A%5CProgram%20Files%5CNetscape%206%5Csearchplugins%5CSBWeb_02.src"); (C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\defaulto9t1tfl.slt\prefs.js)

What to do:
Usually the Netscape and Mozilla homepage and search page are safe. They rarely get hijacked, only Lop.com has been known to do this. Should you see an URL you don't recognize as your homepage or search page, have HijackThis fix it.

O1 - Hostsfile redirections

What it looks like:
O1 - Hosts: 216.177.73.139 auto.search.msn.com
O1 - Hosts: 216.177.73.139 search.netscape.com
O1 - Hosts: 216.177.73.139 ieautosearch
O1 - Hosts file is located at C:\Windows\Help\hosts

What to do:

This hijack will redirect the address to the right to the IP address to the left. If the IP does not belong to the address, you will be redirected to a wrong site everytime you enter the address. You can always have HijackThis fix these, unless you knowingly put those lines in your Hosts file.

The last item sometimes occurs on Windows 2000/XP with a Coolwebsearch infection. Always fix this item, or have CWShredder repair it automatically.

O2 - Browser Helper Objects

What it looks like:
O2 - BHO: Yahoo! Companion BHO - {13F537F0-AF09-11d6-9029-0002B31F9E59} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\YAHOO!\COMPANION\YCOMP5_0_2_4.DLL

What to do:
If you don't directly recognize a Browser Helper Object's name, use TonyK's BHO & Toolbar List to find it by the class ID (CLSID, the number between curly brackets) and see if it's good or bad. In the BHO List, 'X' means spyware and 'L' means safe.
O3 - IE toolbars

What it looks like:
O3 - Toolbar: &Yahoo! Companion - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\YAHOO!\COMPANION\YCOMP5_0_2_4.DLL

If you don't directly recognize a toolbar's name, use TonyK's BHO & Toolbar List to find it by the class ID (CLSID, the number between curly brackets) and see if it's good or bad. In the Toolbar List, 'X' means spyware and 'L' means safe. If it's not on the list and the name seems a random string of characters and the file is in the 'Application Data' folder (like the last one in the examples above), it's probably Lop.com, and you definately should have HijackThis fix it.

O4 - Autoloading programs from Registry or Startup group

What it looks like:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ScanRegistry] C:\WINDOWS\scanregw.exe /autorun
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SystemTray] SysTray.Exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ccApp] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe"
O4 - Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE
O4 - Global Startup: winlogon.exe

What to do:
Use PacMan's Startup List to find the entry and see if it's good or bad.

If the item shows a program sitting in a Startup group (like the last item above), HijackThis cannot fix the item if this program is still in memory. Use the Windows Task Manager (TASKMGR.EXE) to close the process prior to fixing.

O5 - IE Options not visible in Control Panel

What it looks like:
O5 - control.ini: inetcpl.cpl=no

What to do:
Unless you or your system administrator have knowingly hidden the icon from Control Panel, have HijackThis fix it.

O6 - IE Options access restricted by Administrator

What it looks like:
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present

What to do:
Unless you have the Spybot S&D option 'Lock homepage from changes' active, or your system administrator put this into place, have HijackThis fix this.

O7 - Regedit access restricted by Administrator

What it looks like:
O7 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System, DisableRegedit=1

What to do:
Always have HijackThis fix this, unless your system administrator has put this restriction into place.

O8 - Extra items in IE right-click menu

What it looks like:
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Google Search - res://C:\WINDOWS\DOWNLOADED PROGRAM FILES\GOOGLETOOLBAR_EN_1.1.68-DELEON.DLL/cmsearch.html
O8 - Extra context menu item: Yahoo! Search - file:///C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Common/ycsrch.htm

What to do:
If you don't recognize the name of the item in the right-click menu in IE, have HijackThis fix it.

O9 - Extra buttons on main IE toolbar, or extra items in IE 'Tools' menu

What it looks like:
O9 - Extra button: Messenger (HKLM)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Messenger (HKLM)
O9 - Extra button: AIM (HKLM)

What to do:
If you don't recognize the name of the button or menuitem, have HijackThis fix it.

O10 - Winsock hijackers

What it looks like:
O10 - Hijacked Internet access by New.Net
O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\progra~1\common~2\toolbar\cnmib.dll' missing
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\program files\newton knows\vmain.dll

What to do:
It's best to fix these using LSPFix from Cexx.org, or Spybot S&D from Kolla.de.

Note that 'unknown' files in the LSP stack will not be fixed by HijackThis, for safety issues.

O11 - Extra group in IE 'Advanced Options' window

What it looks like:
O11 - Options group: [CommonName] CommonName

What to do:
The only hijacker as of now that adds its own options group to the IE Advanced Options window is CommonName. So you can always have HijackThis fix this.

O12 - IE plugins

What it looks like:
O12 - Plugin for .spop: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Plugins\NPDocBox.dll
O12 - Plugin for .PDF: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\nppdf32.dll

What to do:
Most of the time these are safe. Only OnFlow adds a plugin here that you don't want (.ofb).

O13 - IE DefaultPrefix hijack

What it looks like:
O13 - DefaultPrefix: http://www.pixpox.com/cgi-bin/click.pl?url=
O13 - WWW Prefix: http://prolivation.com/cgi-bin/r.cgi?
O13 - WWW. Prefix: http://ehttp.cc/?

What to do:
These are always bad. Have HijackThis fix them.

O14 - 'Reset Web Settings' hijack

What it looks like:
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.searchalot.com

What to do:
If the URL is not the provider of your computer or your ISP, have HijackThis fix it.

O15 - Unwanted sites in Trusted Zone

What it looks like:
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://free.aol.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.coolwebsearch.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.msn.com

What to do:
Most of the time only AOL and Coolwebsearch silently add sites to the Trusted Zone. If you didn't add the listed domain to the Trusted Zone yourself, have HijackThis fix it.

O16 - ActiveX Objects (aka Downloaded Program Files)

What it looks like:
O16 - DPF: Yahoo! Chat - http://us.chat1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/chat/applet/c381/chat.cab

If you don't recognize the name of the object, or the URL it was downloaded from, have HijackThis fix it. If the name or URL contains words like 'dialer', 'casino', 'free_plugin' etc, definitely fix it. Javacool's SpywareBlaster has a huge database of malicious ActiveX objects that can be used for looking up CLSIDs. (Right-click the list to use the Find function.)

O17 - Lop.com domain hijacks

What it looks like:

What to do:
If the domain is not from your ISP or company network, have HijackThis fix it. The same goes for the 'SearchList' entries. For the 'NameServer' (DNS servers) entries, Google for the IP or IPs and it will be easy to see if they are good or bad.

O18 - Extra protocols and protocol hijackers

What it looks like:

What to do:
Only a few hijackers show up here. The known baddies are 'cn' (CommonName), 'ayb' (Lop.com) and 'relatedlinks' (Huntbar), you should have HijackThis fix those. Other things that show up are either not confirmed safe yet, or are hijacked (i.e. the CLSID has been changed) by spyware. In the last case, have HijackThis fix it.

O19 - User style sheet hijack

What it looks like:

What to do:
In the case of a browser slowdown and frequent popups, have HijackThis fix this item if it shows up in the log. However, since only Coolwebsearch does this, it's better to use CWShredder to fix it.

O20 - AppInit_DLLs Registry value autorun

What it looks like:
O20 - AppInit_DLLs: msconfd.dll

What to do:
This Registry value located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows loads a DLL into memory when the user logs in, after which it stays in memory until logoff. Very few legitimate programs use it (Norton CleanSweep uses APITRAP.DLL), most often it is used by trojans or agressive browser hijackers.

In case of a 'hidden' DLL loading from this Registry value (only visible when using 'Edit Binary Data' option in Regedit) the dll name may be prefixed with a pipe '|' to make it visible in the log.

O21 - ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad

What it looks like:
O21 - SSODL - AUHOOK - {11566B38-955B-4549-930F-7B7482668782} - C:\WINDOWS\System\auhook.dll

What to do:
This is an undocumented autorun method, normally used by a few Windows system components. Items listed at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad are loaded by Explorer when Windows starts. HijackThis uses a whitelist of several very common SSODL items, so whenever an item is displayed in the log it is unknown and possibly malicious. Treat with extreme care.

O22 - SharedTaskScheduler

What it looks like:
O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: (no name) - {3F143C3A-1457-6CCA-03A7-7AA23B61E40F} - c:\windows\system32\mtwirl32.dll

What to do:
This is an undocumented autorun for Windows NT/2000/XP only, which is used very rarely. So far only CWS.Smartfinder uses it. Treat with care.

O23 - NT Services

What it looks like:
O23 - Service: Kerio Personal Firewall (PersFw) - Kerio Technologies - C:\Program Files\Kerio\Personal Firewall\persfw.exe

What to do:
This is the listing of non-Microsoft services. The list should be the same as the one you see in the Msconfig utility of Windows XP. Several trojan hijackers use a homemade service in adittion to other startups to reinstall themselves. The full name is usually important-sounding, like 'Network Security Service', 'Workstation Logon Service' or 'Remote Procedure Call Helper', but the internal name (between brackets) is a string of garbage, like 'Ort'. The second part of the line is the owner of the file at the end, as seen in the file's properties.

Note that fixing an O23 item will only stop the service and disable it. The service needs to be deleted from the Registry manually or with another tool. In HijackThis 1.99.1 or higher, the button 'Delete NT Service' in the Misc Tools section can be used for this.

Step1:
1. Search for autorun.inf file. It is a read only file so you will have to change it to normal by right clicking the file , selecting the properties and un-check the read only option
2. Open the file in notepad and delete everything and save the file.
3. Now change the file status back to read only mode so that the virus could not get access again.
4. Autorun
5. Click start->run and type msconfig and click ok
6. Go to startup tab look for regsvr and uncheck the option click OK.
7. Click on Exit without Restart, cause there are still few things we need to do before we can restart the PC.
8. Now go to control panel -> scheduled tasks, and delete the At1 task listed there.

Step2:
1. Click on start -> run and type gpedit.msc and click Ok.

3. If you are Windows XP Home Edition user you might not have gpedit.msc in that case download and install it from Windows XP Home Edition: gpedit.msc and then follow these steps.
4. Go to users configuration->Administrative templates->system

7. Once you do this you have registry access back.

Step3:
1. Click on start->run and type regedit and click ok
2. Go to edit->find and start the search for regsvr.exe,
3. Launch the attack in the heart of castle: registry search
4. Delete all the occurrence of regsvr.exe; remember to take a backup before deleting. KEEP IN MIND regsvr32.exe is not to be deleted. Delete regsvr.exe occurrences only.
5. At one ore two places you will find it after explorer.exe in theses cases only delete the regsvr.exe part and not the whole part. E.g. Shell = “Explorer.exe regsvr.exe” the just delete the regsvr.exe and leave the explorer.exe

Step4:
1. Click on start->search->for files and folders.
2. Their click all files and folders
3. Type “*.exe” as filename to search for
4. Click on ‘when was it modified ‘ option and select the specify date option
5. Type from date as 1/31/2008 and also type To date as 1/31/2008
6. Seek and destory enemy soldiers: the search option
7. Now hit search and wait for all the exe’s to show up.
8. Once search is over select all the exe files and shift+delete the files, caution must be taken so that you don’t delete the legitimate exe file that you have installed on 31st January.
9. Also selecting lot of files together might make your computer unresponsive so delete them in small bunches.
10. Also find and delete regsvr.exe, svchost .exe( notice an extra space between the svchost and .exe)

Sharing one Internet connection without router

There are two options for sharing an Internet Connection. One is to use Windows Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Wizard or the other is to use easy to use proxy software and configure it manually.

The Internet Gateway Way by using Windows XP ICS

This part will not be detailed in this guide.

The Proxy Way by using CCProxy

The disadvantages of using a proxy server is that you cannot use any application that requires a direct connection to the other party. Examples are P2P applications, Bit Torrent, Multiplayer Games and remote desktop controlling.

The free version supports up to 3 users which is sufficient for most home users. First download and install CCProxy from the website. Configure it by clicking on Account, changing the Permit Category to Permit Only, and manually adding each IP address by clicking on New. User/Group Name would be any name you want to give to that computer, Enable should be checked, IP Address/IP Range would be the clients address and WWW and Mail should be checked.

For each of the other clients, you have to configure their internet proxy server settings to point to the master computer, which in this case is 192.168.1.1.

Log on to the Internet in the master computer. In all client computers, the Internet should now be working.

TCP Optimizer Main Window

Steps to optimize your internet connection.

First, download and extract the files to any folder.
Double-click on the TCPOptimizer application in the folder to launch it
At the bottom of the window, click "Optimal Settings"
At the top of the window, select your connection speed. If you are not sure, run the speed test. Use the value that you get for the Download field (which is in kb/s) and set the slider to it.
If you are using ADSL, check with your Internet Service Provider whether it is based on PPPoE or PPPoA. You may also be able to obtain the information via your router's homepage.
Click 'Apply Changes' at the bottom of the window.
Ensure that 'Backup' is checked and click OK at the next confirmation box that appears.

The term half-open, when referring to TCP connections, has two distinct meanings.

According to RFC 793, a TCP connection is referred to as half-open when the host at one end of that TCP connection has crashed, or has otherwise removed the socket without notifying the other end. If the remaining end is idle, the connection may remain in the half-open state for unbounded periods of time.

You can protect your computer from viruses without expensive software. Instead, follow these simple tips:

Stay up-to-date on all system updates.

Don't download any email attachments you weren't expecting.

Go to Control Panel ---> Administrative Tools ---> Services

Alerter
Notifies selected users and computers of administrative alerts. If the service is stopped, programs that use administrative alerts will not receive them. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: I don't want my personal computer telling me anything, ever. Shut up and work! There's few things I find more annoying than a computer constantly wanting to interact with me while I'm using it to do work or entertain myself. A computer is a tool, not a friend or work companion. No Hal, I don't want to talk to you. Perhaps there's a software vendor that can give you a compelling reason why you need this service, but for most home and SOHO PC use it's just an unnecessary service taking up resources and providing risk. Unless you are running a product that requires this service, disable it.

Updated comment: Someone emailed me to say that if you're on a network where you are required to update your password periodically, failing to do so will generate a notice [if] you have this service enabled. If not, then obviously, your annoying local network won't warn you that you need to change your password and thus you'll get locked out. I've not tested this. But, if you have such a service on your network, you should refer to other admonitions in this article and leave managing your desktop to your IT staff(er). If you're a home network or don't know, read the paragraph above and use personal judgment.

Application Layer Gateway Service
Provides support for 3rd party protocol plug-ins for Internet Connection Sharing and the Internet Connection Firewall

Comment: Do you want to share your internet connection? That's an article waiting to be written. Let me be clear. Since you can buy a router for $50 or less, and Windows does an awful job routing, using a computer to gateway your other computers to the internet is just stupid. "What about firewalling and admission control?" Well, that's not going to be done through the built-in internet sharing tools. So, we''re not talking about that. If you use a personal computer to gateway your other computers to the internet (and calling it a server doesn't change the reality), you are wasting resources. Buy a $50 router, or a $1000 router for that matter. But, buy a discrete device that is designed to do the job. Use hardware based firewalling (OK, it's all based on software - but I mean a boxed solution, not software installed on a PC that's prone to lose autonomy). And, what about all those cute third-party firewalling tools that plug in to this thing? Man, give me a break. If it runs on top of your Windows installation, it's not a real firewall. Unless this is required by a product you think is necessary, disable it.

Automatic Updates
Enables the download and installation of critical Windows updates. If the service is disabled, the operating system can be manually updated.

Comment: There's only two options that may make sense with this service. You should either set it to disable or manual. I'd disable it. Automatic Updates is designed as a tool to aid Microsoft in controlling their product. Props to Microsoft for trying to protect their product from piracy. But, some updates have been known to cause problems. Use it when you need it, and disable it when you don't, unless you're too lazy to do updates on your own. Don't you wonder why all the computers in big, well managed networks don't run Automatic Updates? It's mostly because managers of big networks create their own update policies. If you more completely understand the thinking that goes into deciding whether or not to distribute an update, you could better administer your own PC. Either turn it on and assume the risk, or turn it off and regularly visit Mircosoft's update and news page (discussed more below).

Background Intelligent Transfer Service
Uses idle network bandwidth to transfer data.

Comment: This is one of those tools they require you turn on to enable Automatic Updates. Think about it. It connects your PC to the internet or network and works behind your back to do stuff you didn't explicitly tell it to do. It sounds like a great tool to help hackers collect data from your PC and slowly seep it back to their lair. Unless it's immediately required, disable it. It you use it and then go for some time with no need to use it, disable it. If you can't remember to keep your PC updated with the latest security fixes, you'll need it.

ClipBook
Enables ClipBook Viewer to store information and share it with remote computers. If the service is stopped, ClipBook Viewer will not be able to share information with remote computers. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: So, you want to copy stuff to your clipbook and allow remote computers to access it? I don't. There may be a software vendor that requires this service to run. I've yet to find it useful. I suggest you disable it.

Computer Browser
Maintains an updated list of computers on the network and supplies this list to computers designated as browsers. If this service is stopped, this list will not be updated or maintained. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: If you are on a network with other computers, and need to see them, this may be a useful tool. Otherwise, disable it.

Cryptographic Services
Provides three management services: Catalog Database Service, which confirms the signatures of Windows files; Protected Root Service, which adds and removes Trusted Root Certification Authority certificates from this computer; and Key Service, which helps enroll this computer for certificates. If this service is stopped, these management services will not function properly. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: It is very necessary if you are passing certificates for networking. Unless you are in a large corporate network where connections are managed through authentication, this is unnecessary; disable it.

Distributed Transaction Coordinator
Coordinates transactions that span multiple resource managers, such as databases, message queues, and file systems. If this service is stopped, these transactions will not occur. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: Extremely few personal computers will require this service. If you use it, you may want to review the reasons it is being used. Unless you are accessing network filesystems and databases, disable it.

DNS Client
Resolves and caches Domain Name System (DNS) names for this computer. If this service is stopped, this computer will not be able to resolve DNS names and locate Active Directory domain controllers. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: It's typically good to leave this on.

Error Reporting Service
Allows error reporting for services and applications running in non-standard environments.

Comment: Erorr reporting is very useful, if you know what to do with the errors or you are running software that adjusts based on error reporting. This is that annoying "feature" in Windows that constantly pops up wanting to ship information about your software failures to Redmond. People promise me it helps find problems and solutions. I've mostly seen problem reports that you could as easily search out yourself. If you're advanced enough to use this, you'll likely use a search engine just as well. Chances are, the best thing for you to do is disable it.

Help and Support
Enables Help and Support Center to run on this computer. If this service is stopped, Help and Support Center will be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: I don't find this service useful, other than sucking up resources. If you know how to use Google, I'd disable it.

Human Interface Device Access
Enables generic input access to Human Interface Devices (HID), which activates and maintains the use of predefined hot buttons on keyboards, remote controls, and other multimedia devices. If this service is stopped, hot buttons controlled by this service will no longer function. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: Whether or not you should disable this service, depends on other services you need. If you don't know, turn it off and see if it breaks anything. It says that it deals with hotkeys, however all the system hotkeys that most of us enjoy aren't controlled by this service, they are built into the core OS. Control C, for example, to copy and Control V to past, do not stop working when you turn this service off. It seems this has more to do with specific hotkeys that a software vendor may want to insert into their installed program or internet product. Until you see a reason for it, I'd turn this one off. Personally, I consider relying on such services to be lazy programming. But, there may be good reason for using it if it's more efficient.

Indexing Service
Indexes contents and properties of files on local and remote computers; provides rapid access to files through flexible querying language.

Comment: To date, nobody has shown me real system performance improvements with this technology. Keep in mind, I'm limited in this conversation to Windows. Indexing is very useful. Indexing databases is very useful. Indexing your computer isn't very useful at all. Typically, if you are on a network, you know where on a network to find your chosen data. If you are not on a network, there's no real performance enhancement to this service that justifies the complexity and resource use. Chances are good you should disable it.

IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service
Manages CD recording using Image Mastering Applications Programming Interface (IMAPI). If this service is stopped, this computer will be unable to record CDs. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: Obviously, there may be some usefulness leaving this service as manual, if you have a CD burner installed. If you don't, disable it.

Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) / Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
Provides network address translation, addressing, name resolution and/or intrusion prevention services for a home or small office network.

Comment: This tool does a great job of complicating my internet connection and slowing down transactions. It's not likely this tool is sophisticated enough to make a major impact in your system's performance. You should disable it.

Messenger
Transmits net send and Alerter service messages between clients and servers. This service is not related to Windows Messenger. If this service is stopped, Alerter messages will not be transmitted. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Net Logon
Supports pass-through authentication of account logon events for computers in a domain.

Comment: Unless you need this to operate inside a domain, it's likely not necessary or useful. If you are using a home or SOHO PC and don't have a local domain based network, disable it.

NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing
Enables an authorized user to access this computer remotely by using NetMeeting over a corporate intranet. If this service is stopped, remote desktop sharing will be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: Do you really want a built in tool to share control of your desktop over your network connection? There are better tools for doing this kind of work, if needed. If someone you buy software from insists you let them use this tool to help you install it one time, then enable it and disable it immediately afterward. For typical use, you should disable it.

Remote Desktop Help Session Manager
Manages and controls Remote Assistance. If this service is stopped, Remote Assistance will be unavailable. Before stopping this service, see the Dependencies tab of the Properties dialog box.

Comment: Refer to NetMeeting. If you don't want to share control of your computer through your network, disable it.

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator
Manages the RPC name service database.

Comment: There are some network programs and protocols that require this to be turned on. Chances are you could just turn it off and see if you break anything. If you are using a single PC in your home or SOHO, it's likely just a security risk. If you don't know you need it, disable it.

Remote Registry
Enables remote users to modify registry settings on this computer. If this service is stopped, the registry can be modified only by users on this computer. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: Seems self-explanatory. You can enable this service to help remote people or programs change your registry. Great hacker tool if you can't secure it. Disable it.

System Restore Service
Performs system restore functions. To stop service, turn off System Restore from the System Restore tab in My Computer->Properties

Comment: This is almost useless if you ever have a problem with damaged drives, corrupted data, or malware. It uses a lot of resources and isn't useful for most people. You can turn it on before you install a big piece of software. This service allows you to backup to a previous system should you mess your's up with an installation of software or a modification to your system settings, usually registry damage. To improve system performance and take the minor risk of not being able to make your computer work like it did yesterday, disable it.

Shell Hardware Detection
Provides notifications for AutoPlay hardware events.

TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
Enables support for NetBIOS over TCP/IP (NetBT) service and NetBIOS name resolution.

Comment: Very few people use NetBIOS at home. This is the Windows built-in protocol for simple networking. You may need it. Otherwise, disable it.

Telephony
Provides Telephony API (TAPI) support for programs that control telephony devices and IP based voice connections on the local computer and, through the LAN, on servers that are also running the service.

Comment: If you use telephony, you probably use discrete devices or proprietary services that don't rely on this service. However, you do need this service if you use a modem to connect to the internet. It's required by all sorts of hardware you wouldn't think require it, including accessing the internet via 3G telephones as tethered modems. Set this service to automatic to be safe.

Telnet
Enables a remote user to log on to this computer and run programs, and supports various TCP/IP Telnet clients, including UNIX-based and Windows-based computers. If this service is stopped, remote user access to programs might be unavailable. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: There's just not a circumstance where I can imagine that turning this service on is a good idea. Unless you need to let people telnet into your computer and have a really good reason for doing so, disable it.

Terminal Services
Allows multiple users to be connected interactively to a machine as well as the display of desktops and applications to remote computers. The underpinning of Remote Desktop (including RD for Administrators), Fast User Switching, Remote Assistance, and Terminal Server.

Comment: As I've said above, there's better tools for remote desktop administration. The idea of Terminal Services is to allow remote desktop administration of a system, like the user was on the actual console. In almost all circumstances you should disable it.

Themes
Provides user experience theme management.

Comment: Themes are cute and bloated. Enabling themes is not a good way to increase performance, but you may think it's neat. If you aren't addicted to cute desktop eye candy, disable it.

Uninterruptible Power Supply
Manages an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) connected to the computer.

Comment: Unless you are using a UPS on your computer and it has the capability of managing the system, disable it.

Upload Manager
Manages synchronous and asynchronous file transfers between clients and servers on the network. If this service is stopped, synchronous and asynchronous file transfers between clients and servers on the network will not occur. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start.

Comment: If you are not in a local network sharing data (files and/or services), disable it.

Windows Time

	Microsoft Windows isn't the only operating system for personal computers, or even the best... it's just the best-distributed. Its inconsistent behavior and an interface that changes with every version are the main reasons people find computers difficult to use. Microsoft adds new bells and whistles in each release, and claims that this time they've solved the countless problems in the previous versions... but the hype is never really fulfilled. The upgrade prices serve primarily to keep the cash flowing to Microsoft, to subsidize their efforts to take over other markets. A slew of intrusive "features" in the recent versions benefit Microsoft at the expensive of both your privacy and your freedom. Switching to Vista requires buying new hardware and learning a new system, so instead consider switching to something better. More than 1 in 10 people on the web already have. There's an exciting array of interesting operating systems out there, and the overall quality of them is stronger than ever.
	If you can't say "no" to Windows (which is understandable in many cases), you can still say "no more". The simplest alternative to Windows Vista is a previously-installed version of Windows. Windows Vista isn't a simple upgrade; it's a drastically different operating system, which may not even run your existing software, or work properly on fairly new hardware, so installing the Vista "upgrade" is a risk. Even if the package says "for Windows Vista", that's mostly a Microsoft-directed marketing ploy; check the fine print to see if earlier versions of Windows are also supported (at least XP probably is). The bottom line: if you already own Windows 98/2000/XP and it works for you, you don't have to upgrade; you can continue using it without paying Microsoft another dime.Windows 98/2K/XP runs programs tagged on this site with this icon:
	The Mac OS user interface inspired the creation of Windows, and is still the target Microsoft is trying to equal. 	Linux ("LIH-nux") is a free Unix-like operating system, originally developed by programmers who who simply love the challenge of solving problems and producing quality software... even if that means giving the resulting product away. Not coincidentally, there's also a wealth of free software for it. Unlike proprietary operating systems, which are usually controlled in every detail by a single company, Linux has a standard consistent core (called the "kernel") around which many varieties (known as "distributions") have been produced by various companies and organisations. Some are aimed at geeks, some focus on the needs of business users, and some are designed with typical home users in mind. It has become a popular option for the makers of inexpensive "netbooks" and laptops to preinstall. You can test-drive Linux with versions such as Knoppix which runs directly from a CD without affecting the OS on your hard drive. Most individuals should start with one of the mainstream distributions, such as Ubuntu, Mandriva, or Linspire. Businesses might prefer RedHat/Fedora, Novell/SUSE, or CentOS. Geeks should check out Debian, Slackware, and Gentoo. Linux is a first-rate choice for servers; this site is a Linux system. 	Google's Chrome OS is still vaporware so far, and it's arguably just another flavor of Linux, but it promises to be a viable alternative to Windows on small portable "netbooks" which will come with it preinstalled. The user interface is going to be based on Google's web browser of the same name, and take advantage of technology to make online apps like Google Docs work even if you're not online. It is open-source software, so netbook manufacturers won't have to pay to use it.
	BeOS was designed with multimedia in mind, including the kinds of features that Microsoft is just recently tacking onto Windows. Although Microsoft successfully drove Be Corp. out of business through illegal interference with their marketing efforts, reports of BeOS's death are exaggerated: The source code for BeOS has been licensed to a European software firm whose Zeta is effectively the much-longed-for BeOS R6. The free BeOS R5 Personal Edition is still available to download, and has been packaged with all the latest drivers and free add-ons as BeOS Max Edition. And the Haiku project is creating an open-source duplicate of BeOS R5, which will then be enhanced. 	FreeBSD is commonly called "the free Unix". It's descended from the classic 1970's Berkeley Software Distribution of Unix (from before the OS became "UNIX"®), making it one of the most mature and stable operating systems around. It's "free" as in "free beer" (you can download it for nothing) and as in "free speech" (you can do pretty much whatever you like with it... like when Microsoft took code from it to add better networking to Windows NT). Unlike the plethora of Linuxes, there's only one current version of FreeBSD, with a consistent structure and an easy-to-use "ports" system for installing software. It can also run most Linux binaries. Much of the Internet infrastructure was built on FreeBSD, due to its combination of quality and cost. It's always been excellent for servers, but it's become comparable to mainstream Linux distros as a desktop OS as well. Its main platform is the Intel x86 architecture, with ports to a few others. 	OpenBSD is "the other free Unix". It's similar to FreeBSD both in the Berkeley code it's based on, and the licensing terms. One key advantage it has over its BSD siblings (and nearly any other OS) is that it's incredibly secure from attack, as implied by its blowfish mascot, and made explicit by their boast of only one remotely-exploitable hole - ever - in their default installation. (Compare that to Windows' hundreds.) "Open" is a reference to their code auditing process, not a welcome-mat for crackers. It's not as speedy as FreeBSD, but it's safer. It's also available for some hardware plaforms FreeBSD doesn't support, including Mac 68K, PPC, Amiga, Sun, Vax, and others. OpenBSD runs programs tagged on this site with this icon:
	NetBSD is "the other other free Unix". It's the work of another group of volunteer developers using the net to collaborate (hence the name of their product). Their mission is to get the OS to run - and run well - on hardware platforms no other Unix supports. In addition to most of the usual suspects above, it's been ported to run on the NeXT box, MIPS machines, the good Atari computers, the BeBox, WinCE-compatible handhelds, ARM processors, and even game machines like the Playstation 2 or the orphaned Sega Dreamcast. So with NetBSD you can standardise your software even if you have a whole bunch of different, "incompatible" hardware, one of the strengths of the Unix-like system NetBSD runs programs tagged on this site with this icon:
	Darwin is a cousin of Free/Open/NetBSD, and the free foundation on which the commercial Mac OS X is built. Although its development was originally managed rather tightly by Apple (understandable, because their business depends on it) they've loosened the leash, making participation in the development more open. Any Darwin software will run on OS X, but software written specifically for OS X won't run on Darwin, because the Mac interface (and various other proprietary bits) are not part of Darwin itself. 	Syllable is a free alternative OS for standard PCs. It uses some of the better ideas from Unix, BeOS, AmigaOS, and others, and is compatible enough with portable software written for Unix that many have already been ported over to it. 	Amiga owners used to taunt PC and Mac users with their smoothly-multitasking graphical operating system, back when the Macs couldn't multitask, and PCs weren't even graphical. 	RISC OS is the operating system of the former Acorn line of computers (best known in the UK), which has been revived and updated for faster performance and to meet current OS standards (e.g. long filenames, large hard drives). 	GNU's Not Unix. In fact, that phrase is what G.N.U. is a (recursive) abbrevation for. It is a Unix-like operating system being developed as a long-term project by the Free Software Foundation to offer a fully-free alternative to the commercial and BSD versions of Unix. Although you'll find many key components of GNU used in Linux and BSD packages under the GNU General Public license (GPL), a fully GNU system will use the Hurd, GNU's own free-software kernel. The Hurd has some design advantages over the Linux kernel, but is still far from finished, and requires serious expertise with OS development to install. 	Minix is an open-source Unix-like operating system originally developed for educational purposes. Because of its relative simplicity and ample documentation, its creator says that a few months studying the source code should teach you most of how such things work. (It inspired Linus Torvalds to create Linux.) Versions 1 and 2 serve primarily as teaching examples, but version 3 has also become useful in its own right, intended for highly reliable uses on low-end 386-level hardware. 	There are also a bunch of commercial UNIX® systems, which are typically customised to run on expensive, high-end, proprietary hardware sold by the same vendor. Most of them have names other than "Unix" due to old trademark issues. They're better as alternatives to the server versions of Windows, not the desktop versions of Windows such as 98/XP/Vista. They include Sun Solaris, HP-UX, IBM AIX, SGI IRIX, and Mac OS X Server. 	IBM's OS/2warp was once supposed to replace MS Windows, back when Emperor IBM and Darth Microsoft were planning to rule the galaxy together. Then Darth decided he didn't need the Emperor, struck confidential deals with other hardware vendors and software developers, and made Windows (just barely) powerful enough to fill OS/2's intended role. Windows didn't really beat OS/2 technically, but it won the Marketing Wars, which is what mattered. Unfortunately, IBM has given up on OS/2's future. 	Believe it or not, DOS (with or without Windows 3.1) is still a viable option for many uses. There was an incredible amount of software developed for it, and it still works. Plus, DOS runs like a champ, on old hardware that no one else wants. You can even fit it on a diskette, to boot it on nearly any PC anywhere. In addition to Microsoft's DOS (which you can probably get a computing old-timer to donate to you along with some of his "vintage" applications like WordPerfect 5.1, Lotus 1-2-3 r2.2, and dBASE III), there are modern, compatible DOSes in active use from other sources: the complete open-source clone FreeDOS, IBM's PC-DOS, and MS-DOS compatible DR DOS. iGoogle (Previously Google Personalized Homepage)

Customizable homepage, which can contain Web feeds and Google Gadgets, launched in May 2005. It was renamed to iGoogle on April 30, 2007 (previously used internally by Google).

Notebook

Web clipping application for saving online research. The tool permits users to clip text, images, and links from pages while browsing, save them online, access them from any computer, and share them with others. Google recently stopped development on Notebook and no longer accepts sign-ups, While old users can still access their notebooks, newcomers are offered to try other services such as Google Docs and Google Bookmarks^[1].

Knol

Knol is a service that enables subject experts and other users, write authoritative articles related to various topics.

Marratech e-Meeting

Web conferencing software, used internally by Google's employees. Google acquired the software from creator Marratech on April 19, 2007. Google has not yet stated what it will do with the product.

Orkut

Social networking service, where users can list their personal and professional information, create relationships amongst friends and join communities of mutual interest. In November 2006, Google opened Orkut registration to everyone, instead of being invitation only.

Picasa Web Albums

Online photo sharing, with integration with the main Picasa program.

Reader

Web-based news aggregator, capable of reading Atom and RSS feeds. It allows the user to search, import and subscribe to feeds. The service also embeds audio enclosures in the page. Major revisions to Google Reader were made in October 2006.

Sites (Previously Jotspot)

Website creation tool for private or public groups, for both personal and corporate use.

SMS Channels (Google India Only)

Launched September 2008, allows users to create and subscribe to channels over SMS. Channels can be based on RSS feeds.

Questions and Answers (Google Russia Only)

Community-driven knowledge market website. Launched on June 26, 2007 that allows users to ask and answer questions posed by other users. [1]

Voice

Known as "GrandCentral" before 2009-03-11, this is a free voice communications product that includes a POTS telephone number. It includes a follow-me service that allows the user to forward their Google voice phone number to simultaneously ring up to 6 other phone numbers. It also features a unified voice mail service, SMS and free outgoing calls via Google's "click2call" and 3rd party dialers.

YouTube

Popular free video sharing Web site which lets users upload, view, and share video clips. In October 2006, Google, Inc., announced that it had reached a deal to acquire the company for $1.65 billion USD in Google's stock. The deal closed on 13 November 2006.

Open Source mobile phone platform developed by the Open Handset Alliance

App Engine

A tool that allows developers to write and run web applications.

Code

Google's site for developers interested in Google-related development. The site contains Open Source code and lists of their API services. Also provides project hosting for any free and open source software.

Mashup Editor

Mars

Dictionary

Image Search

Image search engine, with results based on the filename of the image, the link text pointing to the image and text adjacent to the image. When searching, a thumbnail of each matching image is displayed.

Language Tools

Collection of linguistic applications, including one that allows users to translate text or web pages from one language to another, and another that allows searching in web pages located in a specific country or written in a specific language.

Life Search (Google China)

Search engine tailored towards everyday needs, such as train times, recipes and housing.

Movies

A specialised search engine that obtains Film showing times near a user-entered location as well as providing reviews of films compiled from several different websites.

Music (Google China)

A site containing links to a large archive of Chinese pop music (principally Cantopop and Mandopop), including audio streaming over Google's own player, legal lyric downloads, and in most cases legal MP3 downloads. The archive is provided by Top100.cn (i.e. this service does not search the whole Internet) and is only available in mainland China. It is intended to rival the similar, but containing links to illegal music, service provided by Baidu.

Zeitgeist

Collection of lists of the most frequent search queries. There are weekly, monthly and yearly lists, as well as topic and country specific lists. Closed 22 May 2007 and replaced by "Hot Trends, a dynamic feature in Google Trends".

Answers

Question and answer service, allowing users to pay researchers to answer questions. Google announced the closing of service on November 28, 2006. All past discussions have been publicly archived.

Browser Sync

Saved browser settings for backup and use on other installations of Mozilla Firefox.

Deskbar

Bar on your desktop with a minibrowser built into it. It was discontinued when a very similar feature was added to Google desktop. Some people preferred Google deskbar for its ability to add custom searching and the mini-browser so you wouldn't have to open an actual window. The last release, version 5.95, had a .NET plugin.

Music ranking of the songs played with iTunes, Winamp, Windows Media Player and Yahoo Music. Trends were generated by Google Talk's "share your music status" feature.

Page Creator

Webpage-publishing program, which can be used to create pages and to host them on Google's servers. However, to focus on another Google Webpage-publishing service called Google Sites, the new sign-up are not longer accepted since 2008. And all existing content on Page Creator will be transferred to Google Sites in 2009.

Public Service Search

Non-commercial organization service, which included free SiteSearch, traffic reports and unlimited search queries. Discontinued in February 2007 and re-directed to Google Co-op.

Script that places units for related Web content, including pages, searches and videos, on the owner's Website, through embedded code. Discontinued in July 2007.

SearchMash

SearchMash.com Search engine that means to "test innovative user interfaces." Among its features are the ability to display image results on the same page as web results, feedback about features, and continuous scrolling results. Aside from its privacy policy and terms of service, there is no Google branding on the site. Discontinued November 2008.

Shared Stuff

Web page sharing system, incorporating a Share bookmarklet to share pages, as well as a page for viewing the most popular shared items. Pages can also be shared through third party applications, such as del.icio.us or Facebook. It was discontinued in March 30, 2009.

Spreadsheets

Spreadsheet management application, before it was integrated with Writely to form Google Docs & Spreadsheets. It was announced on 6 June 2006.

Automated voice system for searching the Web using the telephone. Now called Google Voice Local Search, it is currently integrated on the Google Mobile web site.

Since you can't upload .ico files in Blogger you need to find free image hosting sites which let you to upload .ico file. I use Google page creator which allows to upload ico file. If you still are stuck what to do then try http://www.iconj.com/generator.php for both generating favicon and free hosting your ico files. Then get the link of favicon URL.

If you pay attention to the types of traffic you are getting in your website or blog, you should be able to tell if most of them are organic traffics from search engines, or direct referrals. Organics traffics from search engines convert good to CPC, but visitors who visit your site on regular basis (the direct ones) will hardly clicks on these CPC ads. To convert this type of traffics to revenue, using CPM ads are one good solution.

CPM (Cost Per thousand Impressions), generally on publishers’ point of views are how much one can earn when an ad gets 1000 impressions on the website.
